Michael K. Lamm began his photography career as Chief Photographer for his local daily newspaper in 1972. He worked in that capacity for 18 years, garnering awards in both the United Press International (UPI) and Associated Press(AP) statewide competitions. Along the way, he had images displayed at the Fort Wayne and Dayton Museums of Art, and the Wassenberg Art Center, as well as various publications, including "Ohio" magazine.

In 1991, he opened Studio E, Photography by Mike Lamm, a full-time, full-service photographic studio in Celina, Ohio, specializing in high school seniors, weddings and families. The business quickly grew into one of the premier studios in northwest Ohio. In 2005, the business was restructed, evolving into Mike Lamm Images.

Mike is a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Professional Photographers of Ohio (PPO), and the elite American Society of Photographers (ASP). He is a past president of the Lima Society of Professional Photographers (LSPP), and currently serves on the PPO state board. He is certified by both the state and national organizations, and in 2003, earned the degree of Master of Photography from PPA.

In 2007, Mike was named as one of only two field consultants nationally for Virtual Backgrounds, San Marcos, TX. The company is the worldwide leader in background image enhancement systems for the creative professional photographer.

Of the images he has submitted to international print competition, five have been published in the PPA Loan Collection, two in the PPA Showcase publications, and two in the ASP Loan Collection. In addition, his images have received six Judge's Choice Awards at PPA regional print competition. His print scores in statewide competitions have allowed Mike to be listed among the top ten photographers in Ohio five times since 2000. He also finished among the top ten in the Mid-East States (MES) in 2002 and 2005. Listed among his many other accolades are four Fuji MasterpeiceAwards (in the varied categories of portrature, illustration and wedding albums), two William Dumbauld Awards (for outstanding illustrative images), two Court of Honor images, an ASP Elite award in 2004, and both the MES Culver Environmental Portrait award and the MES Best Illustrative Image award in 2005.
